At the heart of Dubai 7s is the HSBC SVNS World Series.

Dubai has played host to the opening leg of the series since its inception in 1999 where some of the very best players in the world show tens of thousands of fans how the most exciting form of rugby is played at the very highest level.

Whilst the OG7 team predominantly comprises alumni from Woodhouse Grove, a private co-educational day, boarding and sixth form school located in a small northern english village named Apperley Bridge, their doors are open to all.

OG7 takes pride in their diverse membership, with players hailing from across the UK and beyond, all united by a shared love for the game.

Specifically, OG7 traces its roots back to 2023, emerging from the aftermath of the Covid Crisis when their 15-a-side team sadly folded. This however marked not the end to OG’s, but a bright new beginning.
