Specialty Courses

ENRICHED AIR DIVER

Enriched Air, also known as “nitrox”, is a form of breathing gas that allows divers to extend bottom time and reduce nitrogen tissue loading. It is PADI's most popular specialty course. PADI Enriched Air Diver Online can be completed in as little as an afternoon.

DRY SUIT DIVER

Do you want to stay warm? Do you want to extend your scuba diving season? A dry suit seals you off from the water and keeps you comfortable, even in surprisingly cool temperatures. Becoming a dry suit diver allows you to expand your boundaries and dive more places, more often.

UNDERWATER NAVIGATOR

Be the scuba diver everyone wants to follow because you know exactly where you are and where you're going. The PADI Underwater Navigator course fine-tunes your observation skills and teaches you to more accurately use your compass underwater.

PEAK PERFORMANCE BUOYANCY

Excellent buoyancy is what defines skilled divers. They glide effortlessly, use less air and ascend, descend or hover almost as if by thought. These divers easily observe aquatic life without disturbing their surroundings, which you can achieve too. The Peak Performance Buoyancy specialty course improves the buoyancy skills you learned as a new diver and elevates them to the next level.

DEEP DIVER

The lure of the deep. There's something exciting and mysterious about exploring deeper dive sites whilst scuba diving. Sometimes it's a wreck that attracts you below 18 metres, or on a wall dive where it may be a giant fan or sponge. Whatever it is, to scuba dive with confidence at depths down to 40 metres, you should take the Deep Diver specialty course.

WRECK DIVER

Whether purpose-sunk as an artificial reef or lost as the result of an accident, wrecks are fascinating windows into the past. Each wreck dive offers a chance for discovery, potentially unlocking a mystery or spying something others have missed. The Wreck Diver specialty course is popular because it offers rewarding adventures while observing responsible wreck diving practices.

SEARCH & RECOVERY DIVER

It happens. People accidentally drop things from docks, off boats or even while scuba diving. If you've ever lost something in the water and wanted to go find it, then the PADI Search and Recovery Diver specialty course is for you. Search and recovery can be challenging, but is definitely a whole lot of fun.

EQUIPMENT SPECIALIST

Don't miss a dive due to minor issues with your scuba diving equipment. Whether it's a missing o-ring, wetsuit tear or a broken fin strap, the PADI Equipment Specialist course teaches you to manage basic repairs and adjustments. You'll also learn more about how your gear works.

PUBLIC SAFETY DIVER

If you have the opportunity to work with local authorities and be part of a scuba diving rescue team, conduct search and recovery dives or maybe underwater criminal investigations, this is the course for you.

Although public safety diving can be a fun and exciting adventure, it is serious and requires special training. The PADI Public Safety Diver Specialty course gives you a solid foundation to build upon and teaches you both surface and underwater skills that you will need on the job.

EMERGENCY OXYGEN PROVIDER

Knowing how and when to use emergency oxygen is a great skill to have and means you're ready to help others should the need arise. Becoming a PADI Emergency Oxygen Provider lets you breathe easy knowing that you can recognise any scuba diving illnesses treatable with emergency oxygen.

FULL FACEMASK DIVER

Working divers, such as public safety divers, use full face masks because they protect the eyes and nose from contaminants in the water, provide comfort in cold water, and allow for communication. If you're interested public safety diving, scientific diving, or venturing into extremely cold-water, then learning to dive with a full face mask is definitely for you.

DELAYED SURFACE MARKER DIVER

Boats and currents are two common factors associated with many dive sites. Boaters don't always see that divers are in the area and currents can carry you further than expected. Launching a DSMB before you surface can alert others to your location in advance of your ascent. Take this course to learn about all the beneficial uses of a DSMB.

SELF RELIANT-DIVER

With training, equipment and the attitude to accept the risks involved in independent diving, an experienced diver can responsibly engage in dives without a buddy. If you have the mental discipline and commitment to learn and follow self-reliant diving techniques, you'll bolster your skills and confidence when diving alone or as part of a team.

DIVE AGAINST DEBRIS

Do you want to make a difference on every dive but are not sure where to begin? Gain both the knowledge and skill to activate your inner scientist by taking the Dive Against Debris specialty. You'll learn to complete Dive Against Debris surveys under the guidance of a PADI professional and help keep you your local dive sites healthier by removing trash.

AWARE SHARK CONSERVATION
