As we near the end of 2023, we reflect on the highs and lows of the past 12 months, as well as take a look at what SEPE Diving will be getting up to in 2024.
2023 has certainly been another eventful year. Here’s some of the things that you might have missed.
Go Diving Show, Coventry
SEPE Diving were pleased to be able to spend 2 days in March on behalf of Scuba Leeds, working the 2023 Go Diving Show in Coventry alongside Reel Diving and TechWise (Malta).
Beers with Ross Kemp
We were privileged to have been able to enjoy a beer and a chat with actor, author and television presenter Ross Kemp about his fantastic TV show - Shipwreck Treasure Hunter
Scuba Leeds Limited entered into administration
Sadly in April, despite 12 months of us contracting for instruction and technical services, Scuba Leeds Limited entered into administration. This was a huge loss to the Yorkshire area, but also to scuba diving in general.
Ilkley RFC Kit Sponsorship
In May, SEPE Diving was proud to have been able to collaborate with numerous local Ilkley businesses, and be able to provide kit for the Ilkley RFC U11 junior tour to Borwick Hall, Lancashire.
Cressi Servicing
Already Apeks & Aqua Lung certified, Steve and Pete endured an intense 2 days in Manchester thanks to industry titans Cressi, learning how to service their extensive range of products.
One things for sure, the Italians definitely love to work hard and play hard. We for one, can confirm both their training, generosity and hospitality were second to none.
Public Safety Diver Instructor
In July, Steve became one of a limited few to meet the necessary pre-requisites in the United Kingdom to become certified to teach the PADI Public Safety Diver rating.
This is only available to those who fulfil the extensive requirements set by PADI, and have proof of either affiliation or employment in the necessary fields, such as police or military.
The Majestic Outer Hebrides
We spent 2 weeks in mid August exploring the Outer Hebrides for a future dive expedition, leaving no stone unturned or coastline un-photographed between the remote island of Mingulay in the south, and the vibrant town of Stornaway in the furthest north.
PADI IDC Staff Instructors
In November, Steve and Pete competed their Staff Instructor course with Course Director Tracy Timperley of Academy Divers, allowing them to assist on world renowned PADI IDC’s, and educate independently up to the professional rating of Assistant Instructor.
