PADI Dry Suit Diver
Do you want to stay warm? Do you want to extend your scuba diving season?
A dry suit seals you off from the water and keeps you comfortable, even in surprisingly cool temperatures. Becoming a dry suit diver allows you to expand your boundaries and dive more places, more often.
Unlike wetsuits, drysuits are filled with air. During your drysuit course, we’ll teach you how to control the air in your drysuit along with your buoyancy.
Throughout your course, you'll additionally learn about different types of drysuits, about basic suit repair methods and how to undertake routine maintenance to ensure that you get the maximum wear from your gear.
WHAT WILL I DO?
Your training starts by reviewing the reasons for dry suit diving as well as how important it is to know both personal and environmental limits. During two dry suit dives with your instructor, you'll learn how to:
Master basic dry suit skills in a pool
Learn different ways of managing buoyancy
Take your dry suit on and off
Determine how much weight you need
Maintain and repair your drysuit
Identify different kinds of dry suits and their thermal properties
WHAT SCUBA GEAR WILL I USE?
You will need all of your basic equipment such as a mask, snorkel, fins, BCD, scuba tank, a set of regulators, dive computer and a depth gauge.
You will also require a drysuit and an under suit.
We do hold a limited number of drysuits in school stock, but you may be required to hire one. SEPE Diving can assist you with this or any other equipment which you may need for your course.
