PADI Search & Recovery Diver
The next time someone loses an item underwater, you can be the hero that finds the missing object.
In the PADI® Search and Recovery course, you’ll learn how to find lost objects underwater. You’ll practice different types of underwater search patterns and learn how to use a lift bag as you plan and execute mock search operations.
WHAT WILL I DO?
Your training starts by reviewing the reasons for search and recovery diving and how important it is to know your personal limits. During four search and recovery dives with your instructor, you'll learn how to:
Recover Lost Items
Conduct Underwater Search Patterns
Improve Your Navigation Skills
How To Use A Lift Bag
How To Plan A Search Operation
WHAT SCUBA GEAR WILL I USE?
You will need all of your basic scuba diving equipment such as mask, snorkel, fins, BCD, scuba tank, a set of regulators, a drysuit and undersuit.
You'll need a dive computer and a depth gauge. We also recommend a dive light, slate, extra reel and spare boltsnaps, and can suggest other gear appropriate for search and recovery diving.
We strongly recommend that divers have, at a minimum, their own dive computer and torch, in addition to their own mask, fins and snorkel. Get in touch if you need any assistance in purchasing your own dive gear, we are happy to help!
